Husqvarna – Remote controlled heavyweight

Husqvarna’s LP 9505, a relatively heavy packing machine designed for situations where manned vehicles would be unsuitable due to hazardous working conditions. Controlled via a unique solution from Åkerströms.

When Husqvarna developed its own LP 9505 packing machine, they quickly realized that it would also need to be remote controlled. The LP 9505 is a relatively heavy packing machine designed for situations where manned vehicles would be unsuitable due to hazardous working conditions. The new packing machine’s remote control increases operator safety with precision control from a distance, completely freeing the operator from vibrations and poor working positions. Åkerströms worked a long time with Husqvarna in Bulgaria to develop a customized solution based on Åkerströms remote control system Remotus.

The new packing machine has a series of technical features, such as a radar-like system to prevent collisions with objects or other people and a triangulation system that prevents the operator from controlling the machine from too far a distance. The heavy weight combined with good roller grip makes it suitable for working in hazardous environments, such as verges and ditches.

The machine was adapted specifically for Åkerströms remote controls with an integrated compartment for the remote control, which also allows the transmitter battery to be charged by the machine.

The remote control can be stored in a smart compartment inside the roller when not in use.
